Mull of Kintyre

The Mull of Kintyre is the south-western tip of the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll, western Scotland. It lies only about 20 kilometres from the coast of Northern Ireland, across the North Channel, and has long been a crossing point between Scotland and Ireland. Ptolemy's Geography of the 2nd century names it after the Epidii, and a lighthouse has stood there since 1788.
