County Antrim

County Antrim is a county in the north-east of Northern Ireland, between Lough Neagh and the North Channel, and includes much of Belfast. Its coast, with the basalt columns of the Giant's Causeway, lies only some 20 kilometres from Scotland. In the early Middle Ages it was home to the Dál nAraidi and to Dál Riata, whose kings extended their power across the sea into Argyll.
