Muş

Also known as Mush

Muş, also spelled Mush, is a city in eastern Turkey, capital of Muş Province, on a fertile plain west of Lake Van. It was the centre of the historic Armenian district of Taron, held by the Mamikonian and later Bagratid princes, with the great monastery of Surb Karapet nearby. Its Armenian population was destroyed in the genocide of 1915.
