National Party (Uruguay)
The National Party, whose members are known as the Blancos, is one of Uruguay's two traditional parties, founded in 1836 by supporters of President Manuel Oribe. Rooted in rural and conservative interests, it fought the Colorados in the Guerra Grande of 1839–1851 and in later civil wars. It has won the presidency several times, most recently with Luis Lacalle Pou in 2019.
