Neferhotep III

c. 17th century BCE · 17th century BCE

Neferhotep III was a king of the Theban Sixteenth Dynasty of Egypt during the Second Intermediate Period, when the Hyksos ruled the north. He is one of the better-attested rulers of the dynasty: a stela from his reign boasts that he rescued Thebes in a time of hunger and war.
