Offenburg Programme
The Offenburg Programme was a set of radical democratic demands proclaimed at a meeting in Offenburg, Baden, on 12 September 1847. Drawn up by Friedrich Hecker and Gustav Struve, it called for freedom of the press, conscience and teaching, trial by jury, a people's militia, a progressive income tax and a German parliament. It foreshadowed the demands of the Revolution of 1848.
