Olumo Rock
Olumo Rock is a granite outcrop in Abeokuta, south-western Nigeria. According to tradition, Egba refugees fleeing the Yoruba wars of the early 19th century sheltered among its caves around 1830 under the war leader Sodeke and founded the city of Abeokuta, 'under the rock', around it. It remains a shrine and a symbol of Egba identity.
