Ophir
Ophir is a land famous for its gold in the Hebrew Bible, reached by the ships of Solomon and Hiram of Tyre sailing from Ezion-Geber on the Red Sea. Its location is unknown: scholars have proposed south-western Arabia, the Horn of Africa and the coasts of India, and an ostracon from Tell Qasile, probably of the eighth century BCE, mentions gold of Ophir.
