Otto Braun

1872–1955 · 20th century

Otto Braun was a German Social Democratic politician who was minister-president of the Free State of Prussia almost continuously from 1920 to 1932. His coalition with the Centre and liberals made Prussia a bulwark of the Weimar Republic until Chancellor Franz von Papen deposed it in July 1932. He went into exile in Switzerland in 1933.
