Ottobeuren
Ottobeuren is a market town in the Unterallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany. It grew around a Benedictine abbey founded in 764, which became an imperial abbey with a sizeable territory. The abbey's basilica, completed in 1766 to designs by Johann Michael Fischer, is one of the major works of the late Baroque and is famous for its organs. Benedictine monks returned to the abbey in 1834.
