Ouidah
Ouidah is a coastal town in present-day Benin, one of the main ports of the Atlantic slave trade on the Bight of Benin. Captives taken in Oyo cavalry raids were sold to European merchants there in exchange for firearms, textiles and luxury goods. The port was central to the Oyo Empire's fiscal and military economy from the late seventeenth century.
