Owu Kingdom
Owu was a Yoruba kingdom in south-western Nigeria, one of the old states of Yorubaland. In the early 1820s it was destroyed by an alliance of Ife and Ijebu forces with Oyo refugees, in the wars that followed the decline of the Oyo Empire. Its survivors later settled in Abeokuta, and the army camp formed after its fall grew into Ibadan.
