Pactos de Mayo
The Pactos de Mayo were a set of agreements signed by Argentina and Chile on 28 May 1902. They submitted the two countries' border disputes to arbitration by the British crown, limited their naval armaments, and so ended a costly naval arms race that had threatened war in the Andes and southern Patagonia.
