Pattadakal

Pattadakal is a village on the Malaprabha river in Bagalkot district of Karnataka, India, with a group of 7th- and 8th-century temples built by the Chalukyas of Badami. Used for royal coronations, it combines northern Nagara and southern Dravida styles; the largest, the Virupaksha temple, was built by Queen Lokamahadevi around 740. The group is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
