Penedès
The Penedès is a historic region of Catalonia between Barcelona and Tarragona, divided into the comarques of Alt Penedès, Baix Penedès and Garraf. In antiquity it was home to the Iberian Cessetani, and in the Middle Ages it was a frontier march of the county of Barcelona. It is known for its wines, especially the cava produced around Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.
