Peribsen

r. c. 2700 BCE · 28th century BCE

Peribsen was a king of the Second Dynasty of Egypt, around 2700 BCE. Unusually, he placed the animal of the god Seth rather than the falcon of Horus above his royal name, which may reflect religious or political division in the country. He was buried at Abydos, and his reign remains poorly understood.
