Peter of Cantabria
Peter of Cantabria was a duke of Cantabria in the early 8th century, known only from the Asturian chronicles of the late 9th century, which claim he descended from the Visigothic kings Leovigild and Reccared. His son Alfonso married Ermesinda, daughter of Pelagius, and became King Alfonso I of Asturias in 739, uniting Cantabria with the Asturian kingdom.
