Philip Julius, Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast

1584–1625 · 17th century

Philip Julius (1584–1625) was Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast from 1592, at first under the guardianship of his uncle. He travelled widely in Europe as a young man and later quarrelled with his estates and with the town of Stralsund. When he died childless in 1625, Pomerania-Wolgast passed to Bogislaw XIV of Pomerania-Stettin, who reunited the duchy.
