Philippsburg
Philippsburg is a town on the right bank of the Rhine in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Originally called Udenheim, it was a residence of the bishops of Speyer, and Bishop Philipp Christoph von Sötern fortified it in the early 17th century and named it after himself. Its position on the Rhine made it one of the most fought-over fortresses of the 17th and 18th centuries, besieged in the Thirty Years' War, in 1676, 1688 and 1734.
