Phra Ruang dynasty

c. 1238–1438 · 13th century

The Phra Ruang dynasty was the ruling house of the Sukhothai Kingdom in Thailand from about 1238 to 1438. Founded by Si Inthrathit, it included Ram Khamhaeng and Li Thai, and its later kings became vassals of Ayutthaya from 1378 until Sukhothai was absorbed. Phra Ruang is also the name of a legendary hero-king of Sukhothai in Thai folklore.
