Pietro Doria

d. 1380 · 14th century

Pietro Doria (died 1380) was a Genoese admiral during the War of Chioggia against Venice. In August 1379 his fleet captured Chioggia at the southern edge of the Venetian lagoon, threatening Venice itself, but the Venetians under Vettor Pisani and Carlo Zeno blockaded the Genoese there. Doria was killed during the siege in early 1380, and the trapped Genoese force surrendered in June.
