Pir Panjal Range
The Pir Panjal Range is a chain of the Lesser Himalaya that separates the Kashmir valley from the hills of Jammu and the Punjab plains. Its passes, above all the Pir Panjal Pass on the Mughal road, carried traffic into Kashmir for centuries, and small hill states such as Lohara and Rajauri held the approaches to the valley.
