Qaus-gabri

7th century BCE · 7th century BCE · Also known as Qos-gabr

Qaus-gabri was a king of Edom in the early 7th century BCE, known from Assyrian records. He appears among the western vassal kings who sent building materials to Esarhaddon for his palace at Nineveh and who supported Ashurbanipal's campaign against Egypt. His name contains that of the Edomite god Qos, and a seal impression naming him was found at Umm el-Biyara near Petra.
