Qhapaq Ñan

Also known as Inca road system

The Qhapaq Ñan was the road network of the Inca Empire, some 40,000 kilometres long, running along the Andes and the Pacific coast from present-day Colombia to Chile and Argentina. Way stations called tambos and relay runners called chaskis allowed armies, officials and messages to move quickly. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
