Rastatt
Rastatt is a town in Baden-Württemberg, south-western Germany, on the Murg near the Rhine. From 1700 Margrave Louis William of Baden-Baden built a great Baroque palace there, and it remained the margraves' residence until 1771. It hosted the peace conferences of 1714 and 1797–1799, became a fortress of the German Confederation in the 1840s, and in 1849 was the last stronghold of the Baden revolution.
