Raymond-Roger of Foix
Raymond-Roger was count of Foix from 1188 to 1223. He joined the Third Crusade, and during the Albigensian Crusade he was one of the main opponents of Simon de Montfort, fighting at Muret in 1213, while his sister Esclarmonde was a leading Cathar perfect. Despite the crusaders' gains, Foix remained in his family's hands after the war.
