Revival Lê dynasty
The Revival Lê dynasty was the restored Lê imperial line of Vietnam from 1533 to 1789. After the Mạc seized the throne in 1527, loyalists under Nguyễn Kim set up a Lê emperor in Thanh Hóa, and this southern court fought the Mạc until it retook Thăng Long in 1592. Real power lay with the Trịnh lords in the north and the Nguyễn lords in the south, and the line ended in 1789 during the Tây Sơn wars.
