River Liffey
The River Liffey rises in the Wicklow Mountains and flows in a wide loop through Kildare to Dublin Bay, dividing the city of Dublin into north and south. The Norse founded their settlement at Dublin near its mouth in the 9th century. In the early Middle Ages it marked the southern edge of the kingdom of Brega.
