8th century BCE · 8th century BCE

Rudamun was the last king of the Theban line known as the Twenty-third Dynasty of Egypt, reigning briefly in the 8th century BCE. A younger son of Osorkon III, he succeeded his brother Takelot III. After his reign his family's power declined to local rule, and Thebes passed under the influence of the Kushite kings and their God's Wife of Amun.
