Russo-Polish War (1654–1667)
The Russo-Polish War of 1654–1667 was fought between the Tsardom of Russia and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, after the Cossack Hetmanate placed itself under the tsar at Pereiaslav. Russia overran much of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and the Truce of Andrusovo (1667) gave it Smolensk and left-bank Ukraine, with Kyiv, marking a lasting shift of power in eastern Europe.
