Saitō Yoshitatsu

1527–1561 · 16th century · Also known as Saito Yoshitatsu

Saitō Yoshitatsu was a daimyo of Mino province in Japan, the eldest son, or by some accounts the adopted son, of Saito Dosan. In 1556 he rebelled against Dosan and killed him in battle at the Nagara river, taking control of Mino. He held off attacks by Oda Nobunaga but died of illness in 1561, and his son Tatsuoki lost the province to Nobunaga in 1567.
