Samaritans

The Samaritans are an ethno-religious community of the Levant who follow a religion closely related to Judaism, based on their own version of the Pentateuch, and hold Mount Gerizim near Nablus sacred instead of Jerusalem. They trace their descent to the Israelites who remained in the north after the Assyrian conquest of 722 BCE. Once numerous, they now number under a thousand, living near Nablus and in Holon.
