Saraychik

Also known as Saraishyq

Saraychik was a medieval town on the Ural River in western Kazakhstan, upstream from modern Atyrau. It was a trading station of the Golden Horde on the route from the Volga to Khwarazm, was sacked by Timur in 1395, and later became the seat of the Nogai Horde, whose rulers were buried there. Cossacks destroyed it in 1580.
