Satpura Range
The Satpura Range is a range of hills in central India, running east to west between the Narmada and Tapti rivers through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Its highest point, Dhupgarh near Pachmarhi, reaches about 1,350 metres. Its forests, now partly protected in tiger reserves, have long been home to Gond, Bhil and Korku peoples and sheltered kingdoms such as Deogarh.
