Savaria

Also known as Szombathely

Savaria was a Roman city in Pannonia, founded as a colony under Emperor Claudius around the middle of the first century CE on the Amber Road, on the site of modern Szombathely in western Hungary. It later became the capital of the province of Pannonia Prima and was the birthplace of Saint Martin of Tours.
