Sayyid dynasty

The Sayyid dynasty ruled the Delhi Sultanate in the first half of the fifteenth century, after Timur's sack of Delhi in 1398. Its founder, Khizr Khan, had served as a Timurid governor. Accounts of the Delhi Sultanate describe the Sayyids as governing as Timurid vassals over a much reduced state before the Lodi dynasty replaced them.
