Scarpetta Ordelaffi
Scarpetta Ordelaffi was lord of Forlì in Romagna at the start of the 14th century and a leader of the region's Ghibellines. He welcomed exiled White Guelphs from Florence, including the poet Dante Alighieri, who stayed at his court around 1303. In 1303 he led a failed attack on Florence. His family, the Ordelaffi, ruled Forlì intermittently until 1480.
