Schleissheim Palace

Schleissheim Palace is a group of three palaces at Oberschleissheim, north of Munich. Beside an early 17th-century country residence of Duke William V and Elector Maximilian I, Elector Max Emanuel built the small Lustheim garden palace and, from 1701, the large Baroque New Palace, intended as a residence fit for an emperor. Its formal gardens are among the few Baroque gardens in Germany to survive largely intact.
