Şebinkarahisar
Şebinkarahisar is a town in Giresun province, north-eastern Turkey, below a fortress on a high rock. Known in Byzantine times as Koloneia, it was taken by the Mengujekids after 1071 and later passed to the Seljuks and the Ottomans. It was long known for its alum mines, and in 1915 its Armenian inhabitants resisted deportation in a siege.
