Shahrud River

The Shahrud is a river of northern Iran that flows through the Alborz mountains and joins the Qezel Owzan at Manjil to form the Sefidrud, which runs to the Caspian Sea. Its valley and that of its tributary the Alamut formed the district of Rudbar, centre of the Justanid kings of Daylam and later of the Nizari Ismaili castles.
