Sharuhen
Sharuhen was a fortified town in southern Canaan, near Gaza, which served as a refuge of the Hyksos after their expulsion from Egypt. According to the tomb biography of the soldier Ahmose son of Ebana, the pharaoh Ahmose I besieged it for three years before taking it, around 1550–1540 BCE. Archaeologists have identified it with Tell el-Ajjul or Tell el-Far'ah South.
