Khyan

fl. c. 1600 BCE · 17th century BCE

Khyan was a Hyksos king of the Fifteenth Dynasty of Egypt who ruled from Avaris in the 17th century BCE. He is one of the best-attested Hyksos rulers, and objects bearing his name have been found far beyond Egypt, including an alabaster lid at Knossos on Crete and a granite lion acquired in Baghdad, evidence of the dynasty's wide contacts. Seal impressions of his reign were also found at Edfu in Upper Egypt.
