Shimashki dynasty
The Shimashki dynasty was a line of rulers from the Iranian highlands who dominated Elam around the end of the third millennium BCE. Its king Kindattu captured Ur around 2004 BCE and took the last ruler of the Third Dynasty of Ur captive. Accounts of the Elamite Confederation treat this as ending Mesopotamian hegemony over Elam.
