Siege of Paris (885–886)

The Siege of Paris (885–886) was a siege of Paris by a large Viking army. The city was defended by Count Odo, while Emperor Charles the Fat paid the Vikings to withdraw. Accounts of the Carolingian Empire treat it as evidence of Carolingian weakness, which contributed to Charles's deposition.
