Siem Reap
Siem Reap is a city in north-western Cambodia, capital of Siem Reap Province, near the ruins of Angkor. The province was ruled by Siam from the late 18th century until the Franco-Siamese treaty of 1907 returned it to Cambodia under French protection. The city grew as the gateway to Angkor and is now the centre of Cambodia's tourism industry.
