Sino-Indian War
The Sino-Indian War was a border war fought between China and India in October and November 1962 over disputed Himalayan territory in Aksai Chin and the North-East Frontier Agency. Chinese forces overran Indian positions on both fronts, then declared a ceasefire and withdrew in the east while keeping Aksai Chin. The defeat damaged Jawaharlal Nehru's prestige and led India to expand and modernise its armed forces.
