Sino-Nepalese War
The Sino-Nepalese War (1788–1792) began with Nepalese invasions of Tibet over trade and coinage disputes, culminating in the sack of the Tashilhunpo monastery in 1791. The Qianlong Emperor sent a Qing army under Fuk'anggan, which drove the Nepalese out of Tibet and advanced to within reach of Kathmandu in 1792. Nepal accepted peace and sent tribute missions to Beijing until the early twentieth century.
