Siraya people
The Siraya are an Austronesian Indigenous people of the south-western plains of Taiwan, around modern Tainan. They were among the first Taiwanese peoples to deal with the Dutch East India Company, whose missionaries learned their language and wrote it in Latin letters. Under Chinese settlement and rule their language fell out of use, and it is now being revived.
