Skouriotissa

Skouriotissa is a copper mine in north-western Cyprus, near the village of Katydata, and one of the oldest mining sites in the world still exploited. Its huge ancient slag heaps show copper working from the Bronze Age through Roman times, when it supplied the nearby city of Soloi. Mining resumed there in the 20th century.
