Sozh River

The Sozh is a river of eastern Europe, about 650 kilometres long, a left tributary of the Dnieper. Rising near Smolensk in Russia, it flows south through eastern Belarus past Krychaw and Gomel to join the Dnieper near the Ukrainian border. In the early Middle Ages its basin was the home of the Slavic Radimichs, and it later formed part of the lands of Smolensk and Chernigov.
